Judge modifies bond for former minister accused of sexually abusing children

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former minister accused of sexually abusing three children was teaching in a school classroom up until last month.

In court this morning, the attorney for 76-year-old Allen Lehmann argued for a bond reduction. He cited Lehmann's age, the fact that he has no criminal record, and has been married for nearly 60 years.

The judge changed the bond from $100,000 full cash to $100,000 unsecured, meaning that he could use property to pay the bond.

Lehmann was a former substitute teacher in Valparaiso, Indiana and a minister at an Assembly of God Church in Louisville. The allegations date back to 1993, 1994, 1999 and 2000, but he was just indicted last month.

Lehmann has pleaded not guilty to sodomy and sexual abuse.
