Louisville honors the life of Laken Cosby

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Monday, Louisville honored the life and legacy of a historic figure in the African-American community.

Hundreds attended the funeral services for Laken Cosby. He served as the first black chairman of the Jefferson County Board of Education in the 1980's and was a well-known civil rights leader.

He is the father of Dr. Kevin Cosby, President of Simmons College and Pastor of Saint Stephen Church.

Laken Cosby died last week at age 83.
