LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino and his family will announce the establishment of the Petrino Family Foundation with a press conference Thursday at Kosair Children's Hospital.  The family will announce a large gift to Kosair Children's Hospital through the Children's Hospital Foundation, with coach Petrino focusing his commitment on the hospital's Trauma unit.

In addition, the Petrino Family Foundation will support two other recipients: The Petrino Family Foundation Scholarship Fund will provide students who can't afford the cost of tuition the opportunity to attend U of L; and the foundation will make a donation toward the purchase of new band uniforms for U of L's marching band.

"Louisville has always been home to me and my family, and we are committed to giving back to this city and the University," Petrino said in a release from the foundation.

Kelsey Petrino Scott, Petrino's oldest daughter, will serve as executive director of the Foundation, with other family members also having direct involvement.

"I could not be more excited for the opportunity to get involved with the community and to help inspire families to come together, to help each other, and to reach out to those in need,” Petrino Scott said.
