LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A month after being voted out of office, the mayor of Hodgenville is appealing the city council's decision.

Mayor Terry Cruse has filed an appeal in LaRue County Circuit Court, claiming the city did not use due process in the decision to remove him.

The council voted unanimously to remove Cruse from office last month. City Council members claim everything was done "by the book," and was in compliance with state requirements.

Cruse faces 14 felony charges stemming from the misuse of city funds.
