Auto repair specialist finds baby on bridge in Georgia

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- When they're not in the shop, auto repair specialists find a lot of work on the side of the road.

But this is something Bryant Collins of Madison County, Georgia, never thought he'd see. The story is told on the 911 call.

"I just found a little baby crawling in the street, man," Collins said.

"There's a baby crawling on the bridge?" the dispatcher replied.

"A baby is on the highway," Collins replied.

He immediately picked her up and called 911. Rescuers later learned that the girl had crawled through the woods 300 yards from home. The girl's mother says she and her husband -- who was arrested -- left the house, and their other children, ages 13, 9 and 5, were supposed to be watching the baby.

Police say charges could be filed against the mother.
