GM in trouble over faulty ignition switches

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Candice Anderson's fiancee was killed in a crash in November 2004.

She plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide thinking it was her fault.

This year, the National Transportation Safety Board sent Anderson a letter saying her crash was one of 13 linked to GM's faulty ignition switches.

It's a problem GM admits it knew about for a decade before issuing a recall.

CEO Mary Barra returned to Capitol Hill Wednesday to explain the steps the auto giant plans to take to remedy its deadly mistakes.

GM has dismissed 15 employees and disciplined five others based on an internal investigation.
