LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Churchill Downs is known for racing, but on Wednesday, it was all about golf.

The current PGA champion made history by taking five shots from the base of the twin spires to the Winner's Circle. That's 102 yards and four stories down.

Jason Dufner got the ball into the Winner's Circle twice, but never in the hole.

Dufner is in Louisville to promote the PGA championship at Valhalla. Practice rounds are starting Aug. 4, with the championship starting on Aug. 7 and running until Aug. 10.

Dufner told attendees about his visit to the Kentucky Derby and walking the red carpet.

Jockeys Corey Lanerie and Robbie Albarado had three chances to take the shot as well. Both love playing golf and showed it was an easy shot to get it into the Winner's Circle.

U of L Coach Rick Pitino, along with the Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, was also there in support of the PGA.
