LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing serious charges after police say he threatened a woman with a gun.

According to an arrest report, it happened early Friday in the 3700 block of W. Broadway. Police say a woman there told them a man had just pushed her down and pointed a gun in her face, threatening to shoot her in the face.

The victim said she could still see the suspect walking northbound on 37th Street. As officers approached the suspect, they say he put a "Hello Kitty" purse on the sidewalk. Officers searched the purse and found a silver gun and 25 xanax bars. Police say the purse belonged to the mother of his child.

When police contacted the woman, she allegedly admitted the purse belonged to her and that she had left it at a residence in the 3700 block of W. Broadway, and that there were no drugs or guns in it when she left it there.

Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, carrying a concealed weapon and trafficking in a controlled substance.
