Pictures on cell phone led to stabbing, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman was arrested early Thursday after police say an argument about a cell phone ended with a man being stabbed.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 4:30 a.m. June 19. That's when police say 24-year-old Melissa Johnson snatched a cell phone from the victim's hand. About an hour later, police say Johnson confronted the victim about pictures on the phone, then pulled a knife.

Police say Johnson chased the victim across the street and stabbed him the thigh. She tried to stab him again, but was unsuccessful, police say. At that point, police say Johnson broke the phone and ran into her house.

The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of assault - domestic violence.
