Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS (WDRB) -- Indiana Department of Education statistics show the number of homeless students in the state is growing quickly, particularly in suburban districts.

New reports show that a record number of more than 16,000 students enrolled in Indiana schools were homeless during the 2012-2013 school year.

That's a 121 percent increase since 2006.

The number is even higher in suburban areas.
