LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville man who allegedly tried to rape a woman was caught in the act by the victim's father.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 6 a.m. Saturday. That's when police say the suspect, 19-year-old Mason Link, was at the victim's home in the 900 block of  Algonquin Parkway after running into her earlier that night. Police say the woman told officers that Link asked her to have sex with him several times, but she declined.

While the two were in the victim's back yard, police say Link "became irate and pushed her to the ground," then dragged her behind a detached garage, but the victim was able to scream and bang on the garage. While Link was allegedly choking the victim and covering her mouth, the victim's dad entered the back yard and Link took off.

He was arrested about 90 minutes later in the 500 block of Montana Avenue.

Link is now charged with wanton endangerment and assault.
