LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police arrested two men who they say robbed and assaulted a man, according to police.

Vincent Crutcher Jr. and Charles Cowherd were taken into custody Monday morning on I-64 east, near I-71 north.

Police responded to a call in the 800 block of East Chestnut, where the robbery victim stated Cowherd, Crutcher Jr., and a third suspect stole his iPhone and money, and then assaulted him.

Police allege that shots were fired at the victim as he ran away from the area.

Police records indicate that the victim's cell phone was tracked to one of the suspect's vehicles. They also say it was the only vehicle on the street at the time.

Officers say they observed a something thrown from the vehicle, and were able to determine that it was the victim's stolen cell phone.

Police allege that Crutcher Jr. and Cowherd were in possession of a .40 caliber pistol, which was the caliber as the shell casings that were found at the robbery scene.

The pair are charged with robbery.
