LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The Jefferson County Coroner now says 25-year-old Corey Harris died Tuesday from a gunshot wound to the head.

Harris is now the second victim to die in the Paoli shooting that killed one man and left another wounded.

Indiana State Police now say they have finished processing the crime residence where Harris, Nicholas Fields and Daniel Smitson were found shot.

Fields was pronounced dead Monday after being rushed to IU Health Paoli.

Harris was flown to University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say initial reports indicated Harris died at the hospital Monday evening, but Tuesday afternoon police said he was still alive on life support, "pending an additional evaluation."

According to a press release, Indiana State Police now say Harris was pronounced dead by the Jefferson County coroner at 2:35 p.m.

In the release, ISP says he was listed as an organ donor and “in order to carry out Harris’s wishes to provide an opportunity for others to possibly further their lives through his gift, he had to be declared legally dead and his body had to be sustained by medical devices.”
