LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One accident led to another along I-65 near the Gene Snyder Wednesday morning, shutting down several lanes of traffic for hours.

It happened just before 8 a.m. That's when police say the driver of a smaller car hit another car, then swerved into the path of a tractor-trailer. The semi struck that car and spilled diesel fuel, igniting a fire that engulfed one of the cars and the cab of the semi.

It took crews several hours to clean up the fuel, but all lanes are now open.

Police say the driver of the car that caused the accidents was injured, and is expected to recover. No other injuries were reported.
