Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), Made in the USA maker of flexible honing tools and a full line of industrial brushes, announces technical resource that explains how to select twisted-in-wire brush tools. On-line article describes twisted-in-wire brush types and product specifications for cross-hole deburring tools, thread cleaning brushes, and tube and flue brushes.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2014

Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), global supplier of surface finishing and deburring tools, is announcing a technical article called How to Select Twisted-in-Wire Brushes. The Made in America manufacturer examines the four major categories of twisted-in-wire brushes, and describes Series-level products in each category.

Twisted-in-wire brushes are used for cross-hole deburring, the process of removing burrs from the intersections of cross-drilled holes. These industrial brushing tools are also used for removing soot and carbon deposits from pipes, and for cleaning holes, threads, and flues. Twisted-in-wire brushing tools can internally clean and deburr hard-to-reach places, making them important surface finishing tools.

Cross-Hole Deburring Tools and Thread Cleaning Brushes

As BRMs new technical article explains, cross-hole deburring tools can have metal or abrasive-filled nylon filaments, and are available in small diameters. For example, Series 81-A brush tools feature an all-stainless steel construction and come in sizes as small as .024. Series 81-AY twisted-in-wire brushes, and Series 85 deburring brushes for closed holes, complete the cross-hole deburring tool category.

Thread cleaning brushes, another type of brush tool described in BRMs on-line article, are used for cleaning pipe threads. Butterfly-type twisted-in-wire brushes are available for popular screw threads, and can be used also with tapered screw threads. BRM Series 83 industrial brushes can clean threads and remove burrs, scale, and rust.

Flue Brushes and Tube Brushes

BRMs technical resource also explains how flue brushes are used for removing soot and carbon deposits from pipes, and for cleaning tube sheets. Available for various bore sizes, flue brush tools differ in terms of filament type and stem construction. Typically, pipe nipples are attached to these brush tools, which are designed for the internal cleaning of flues.

As BRMs article also explains, the American manufacturer supplies various types of tube brushes. Some are designed for blind holes and bottom ends, while others are suitable for either powered operation or manual use. Tube brushes that are cut for power are used for tube cleaning, de-scaling, and rust removal.
