LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing robbery and drug charges after police say he tried to steal a motor scooter from the parking lot of a Bardstown Road bar.

According to the arrest report, it happened just after 3:30 p.m. on June 24 in the parking lot outside Kern's Korner on Bardstown Road. Police say say the victim spotted the suspect, 19-year-old Quante J. Burris, tampering with the scooter, causing damage to the handle bars. The victim approached Burris and the two began fighting, police say, causing injury to the victim's knees.

Police were called and an officer spotted a man matching Burris' description on Newburg Road. Police say the victim confirmed that Burris was the man who tried to steal the scooter. Officers searched Burris and found a marijuana pipe. Police then got a search warrant for the hotel room where Burris was staying. That's where they allegedly found "a large sum of U.S. currency, digital scales and about 22 grams of crack cocaine."

Burris now faces charges of robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance.
