Thirteen-mile stretch of Bluegrass Parkway to be named after Ofc. Jason Ellis

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a way to remember a fallen Bardstown Police officer one year after he was ambushed, shot and killed.

A 13-mile stretch of the Bluegrass Parkway from Bardstown to the Bloomfield exit will be renamed the Officer Jason Ellis Memorial Highway. Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear signed the bill Wednesday morning during a private ceremony.

Ellis was gunned down while removing debris in May 2013. His killer has not been caught.
