Twice Monthly Series Will Cover Opportunities & Responsibilities
WASHINGTON, June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) today announced, in partnership with Small Business Majority and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a series of webinars to help Spanish-speaking small business owners navigate the changes and opportunities in health care and better understand how they and their employees can benefit from new programs made possible by the Affordable Care Act. Through the Affordable Care Act 101 webinar series, which will occur twice a month, small business owners will better understand the facts about the law, learn more about the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) and make more informed decisions when it comes to providing health insurance for their employees.
"These webinars will help small business owners know the facts about the Affordable Care Act and use them to make smart business decisions," said SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet. "Affordable health care is a top concern for the 28 million small business owners in the United States, and Latino-owned businesses are one of the fastest growing segments of our nation's economic engine."
Beginning Tuesday, July 8th, every other Tuesday, the Affordable Care Act 101 webinar series will be held in Spanish. We encourage interested business owners to register and take part in this important series that will cover topics such as insurance market reforms, cost containment, the small business health care tax credit, and the employer shared responsibility provisions.
A list of the planned webinars and links to register are available at sba.gov/healthcare. For more information on how the new health care law affects small businesses, check out www.business.usa.gov/healthcare.
