LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect believed to be involved with the shootings just north of Paoli on Monday that left two people dead and one injured.

John Robert Carpenter, age 35, of Marengo, Ind., is now wanted for murder, according to a news release.

Carpenter is described as a white male, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. He also has blue eyes, brown hair, and is believed to have a shaved head. He was last seen driving a red and grey 1991 Dodge Ram 150, single cab, two-wheel drive pick-up truck with Indiana registration tags bearing the number TK 913 LGC.

Photos of Carpenter taken earlier this month show him with a beard or light stubble. It is possible Carpenter has facial hair, police said.

"Carpenter is believed to be the gunman involved in the shooting Monday that claimed the life of Nicholas Fields and Michael Corey Harris, and injured Daniel Smitson," police said.

Anyone with information on Carpenter is asked to call 911 immediately. Police say Carpenter should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
