LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested Tuesday night in Breckinridge County, ending an almost three-month search, according to police records.
Michael Wells, 44, was involved in the Metro Corrections Community Correctional Center when, on April 4, police say he took another program member's vehicle without permission and fled to Breckinridge County.
Wells was supposed to return to CCC that same day, but after the victim told police that Wells had taken his truck, an escape warrant was issued for his arrest, according to police documents.
Following his arrest Tuesday, police say Wells gave a recorded statement admitting he had the victim's truck in his possession the day after his alleged escape.
Neither the victim's truck nor the items in the truck have been found by police.
Wells is charged with theft and escape among other charges.
