Soccer fans pack 4th Street Live! for USA vs. Germany match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Soccer fans packed Fourth Street Live! at lunchtime on Thursday to watch the match between the U-S and Germany.

The game was shown on a 20 x 17 foot LED screen, near the Tavern on Fourth. Fans showed up draped in flags, decked out in red, white and blue, and some even painted their faces.

Ultimately, Germany took home the victory, winning the game 1-0.

But both teams will still move on to the Round of 16 in the World Cup - because at this point - teams move forward based on points rather than wins.

This isn't the first World Cup game hosted by Fourth Street Live!

Sunday's U.S. versus Portugal game brought 3,000 fans to the square.
