LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Dozens of basketball players hit the court Saturday in Louisville for a chance at $100,000 and an opportunity to tour the world.
It’s all part of the Ball Up Street Team event.
One of the coaches says they're trying to find the best street ball player in America.
They're making stops at nine cities looking for people with their own style of playing.
A man who made it to the semi-finals last year, is hoping for a different outcome this time around.
“To be honest with you,” said Ray Bowens, “I was not a basketball player during high school or college or nothing, I was all football. So it's just an opportunity and another way to open up a door."
Coach Dan Cramer says, "And you might go, who is this guy, where'd he come from, but you know what, he's got game and he's going to have a chance to go onto the combine and maybe change his whole life and get $100,000 contract and tour around the world."
Ten people were selected from Saturday’s tryouts.
Following a game with the Ball Up team, only two will advance to the Championships in Las Vegas
