Ex-Teamsters president in Louisville facing federal charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The former president of the Teamsters Local 783 in Louisville is facing federal charges.

Jerry Thomas Vincent, Jr. is accused of embezzling funds from the labor union, making illegal loans, and criminal record keeping violations.

The 53-year-old allegedly skimmed more than $17,000 and arranged for more than $23,000 in illegal loans to himself.

Vincent was the Teamsters' president from 2006 to 2011.  If convicted, he could face up to 23 years in prison.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 22.
