LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some parents are fighting a decision that allows transgender students to choose which restrooms and locker rooms they use at school.

Atherton High School's site-based decision-making council voted to allow a transgender student to use the girls' facilities. The student was born male, but identifies as a female.

But a group says the decision is inconsistent with state and federal law, with concerns for safety and concerns for liability.

The site-based decision-making council will meet next week to discuss the appeal.
