Franklin County judge plans to hold hearing on Kentucky's lethal injection method

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- State leaders are trying to bring back executions in Kentucky, but a judge says "not so fast."

Kentucky is trying to use both one- and two-drug lethal injections to put inmates to death, but in Ohio, it took an inmate 26 minutes to die after he was given a two-drug lethal injection cocktail.

A Franklin County judge says that means Kentucky's plan may need a second look. He says he may hold a hearing about the state's execution plan, but hasn't set a date yet.

That same judge halted all Kentucky executions in 2010.
