SLIDESHOW: Slip-N-Slide Extravaganza helps WDRB in the Morning celebrate summer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Keith Kaiser and Jude Redfield held their 3rd annual Slip N Slide Extravaganza.
Each year, Highview Baptist Church East Campus organizes their outreach event called Watermelon and Water Fun the second Friday in July.
The folks at Highview Baptist Church construct three mega slides, each 100 feet long with big splash zones. They're engineered for speed. The creations took 150 tons of sand, 300 mulch bags, gymnastic mats, and hundreds of feet of plastic.
WDRB in the Morning tagged along again this year with the WDRB production crew using 6 cameras to capture all the action. Candyce Clifft, Sterling Riggs and Mike Marshall joined them later on in the morning.
The Highview youth group also joined in the morning fun to kick off the event on Friday, July 11th from 5pm-9pm. FREE admission with FREE hot dogs, shaved ice and popcorn while it lasts.
