LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local animal welfare group has taken the case of Hank, an emaciated puppy found Thursday night in the Clifton area.

The 5-month-old pooch weighs less than 30 pounds, but he should weigh over 50.

He's being nursed back to health at Blue Pearl and will later be ready for adoption.

"It's the most heinous crimes committed against them whether it be abuse or neglect and you would be surprised how they respond to love and care," said Rebecca Eaves, an official with the Arrow Fund.

The Arrow Fund is working with LMPD to determine who or what caused Hank's condition to deteriorate so severely.

They're requesting that anyone who might have information please contact LMPD.
