Indiana students testing high-tech football helmets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Indiana high school football players are testing out new technology in their helmets this week, during the All-Star game in Indianapolis.

The helmets are designed to detect sports-related brain injuries or concussions. The sensors were created by a Maryland company. They have a red light designed to show when a player has a significant hit.

The idea is that it would alert coaches or trainers to potential medical problems before they become more serious.
