Relief coming for unemployed Kentuckians

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Out-of-work Kentuckians have some relief headed their way, courtesy of the federal government.

Governor Steve Beshear says a grant from the U.S. Labor Department is giving Kentucky $6,000,000 to help the unemployed.

The money will be used to create and expand job training programs for people who were laid off and assist in connecting them with employers.

The funding will also provide more on-the-job training, as well as apprenticeships for people who are looking to build their skills.
