LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Members of the international ALL FRETS organization visit Louisville for their annual convention, July 17th - 19th.
Originally established in Chicago in 1957 as the Fretted Instrument Guild of America, today's ALL FRETS organization remains dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the music - often of a bygone era - played on banjos, ukuleles, mandolins, guitars and other fretted instruments.
ALL FRETS members are musicians of every skill level - from beginner to top professional. They gather annually to share music and friendship.
This year's ALL FRETS convention (the 57th consecutive event of its type) takes place at the Marriott East Hotel. Members will have workshops, lectures, and informal jam sessions. Each evening the public is invited to join ALL FRETS members some in the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame at special performances.
ALL FRETS convention concerts - featuring different performers each night - will start at 7:00PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the ballroom at the Marriott East Hotel (1903 Embassy Square Boulevard).
Tickets are $10.00 per person/per concert and will be available at the door.
