DUSSELDORF, Germany, July 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In order to strengthen its brand awareness in Europe even further, Hisense has entered into a 3-year premium partnership with the German Bundesliga football club and Champions League participant, FC Schalke 04. The technology specialist will receive a strong presence on the LED advertising boards in the stadium, as well as on all TV interview background walls. Two of the players in FC Schalke 04, Benedikt Howedes and Julian Draxler took part in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and played to contribute to the Championship of Germany.
Apart from TVs, Hisense also offers several other product categories such as innovative fridges and freezers. Thanks to this partnership, Hisense will now receive the same level of presence as other Schalke premium partners such as Coca-Cola and Volkswagen.
Hisense has utilized sports marketing to promote its brand awareness in global markets, such as purchasing the naming rights for an Australia Open arena and being the sponsor of many amazing games in South Africa, Europe, Middle-East and other regions. Sports marketing plays a vital role in Hisense's global development. According to the Display Search data for Q1 2014, Hisense maintained a strong growth momentum, ranking No.4 in the global markets. FC Schalke 04, a world-renowned German football club with a rich history, has had tremendous success on the football pitch for its seven German championships, five German knockout football cup competitions (DFB-Pokal, formerly Tschammer-Pokal) and one UEFA Cup.
Henry Liu, Vice General Manager at Hisense International Co. Ltd., who is responsible for Hisense Europe, sees great potential in this partnership: "In FC Schalke 04, we have found a partner that will support us in strengthening our brand in the strategically important and growing European market." Alexander Jobst, Marketing Director at Schalke, is also convinced that both parties will benefit greatly from the partnership: "For Schalke 04, this collaboration with Hisense is another important landmark on our journey to internationalisation. As you know, we have had an increased focus on the Asian market for some time." Both parties will profit enormously from one another.
In the upcoming Bundesliga season, Hisense is looking forward to working with FC Schalke 04 and a joint press conference will be held on Sep. 4th in Berlin, in which Schalke players will be present at the Hisense IFA booth.
