LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's mayor addressed concerns about a new Walmart slated for construction in West Louisville.

The issue: negotiations about the design.

"There's been no indication that the project is in jeopardy," Mayor Greg Fischer said. "We are just trying to get them to move to an urban Walmart as much as they can."

Walmart currently plans to implement a suburban design for the store.

Those pushing for an urban design say they prefer it because it will be closer to the sidewalk, keeping the area more active and opening up opportunity for other street-side businesses.
