GOSHEN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Oldham County are investigating after a man's body was found near a pool of blood in a family's driveway near Goshen.
Police tell us a family found the victim outside a home in the 5400 West U.S. Highway 42 near a large pool of blood in the driveway around 8 p.m. July 17.
The victim appears to be a man in his 30s, according to Oldham County Police Sgt. James Brown.
There was no word on the man's identity. Brown said the case appears to be a murder. No suspects are in custody.
WDRB's Rachel Collier spoke with a woman who lives nearby. She did not want to be identified, but says her sister discovered the body at their mother's home. The woman told us she had seen blood in the gravel driveway earlier in the evening, but thought it may have been from an animal that had been hit by a vehicle. She says her sister found the body a short time later.
Oldham County Police, along with investigators from the LaGrange Police Department and crime scene technicians from Louisville Metro Police, were still looking for clues at the scene early Friday.
Police are calling this a homicide, but can't comment on the nature of the victim's injuries or the suspected cause of death because they don't want to compromise their investigation. It's too early to tell if the victim died at the scene or if his body was brought there after he was killed.
