LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a woman after she shot a victim multiple times with a handgun she wasn't supposed to have in the first place.

Little is revealed about the victim, but according to an arrest report, it happened just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say 40-year-old Tara Cook, also known as "T Baby," used a .38 caliber handgun to shoot the victim more than one time, causing "potentially life-threatening" injuries, particularly because one of the bullets caused a wound to the victim's femoral artery.

Police say Cook is a convicted felon and was forbidden to have a gun.

Cook was arrested at 8 a.m. the same day and charged with first degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The condition of the victim is not known.
