Seymour woman arrested after 6-month welfare fraud investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police arrested Casey McCoy, 31, of Seymour for allegations of welfare and fraud following a six-month investigation.

The investigation by the Indiana Department of WorkForce Development (DWD) and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department began after a tip that McCoy had received unemployment benefits while working at Aisin USA in 2011-2012.

McCoy received unemployment benefits totaling $16,264. She is reported to owe the state of Indiana $22,654.25, the DWD has assessed.

McCoy was arrested on felony charged of theft and welfare fraud. She is being held in Jackson County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
