LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville grandmother fired shots at her granddaughter and her granddaughter's boyfriend over the weekend.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 8 p.m. July 20 at home in the 500 block of School Way near Southern Parkway. That's where officers were sent on reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they found the boyfriend outside. He told police his girlfriend's grandmother had been shooting at them, and had shot through the bedroom door, knowing he and her granddaughter were inside the room.

The victim told police his girlfriend was still on the roof of the house, and that he believed her grandmother, 63-year-old Linda Harper, had gone back inside the house to reload. The officer could see the granddaughter on the roof, screaming for help, according to the police report. That's when the officer forced his way into the house through the front door, where he encountered Harper in a hallway, where she was disarmed and taken into custody.

The officer brought the granddaughter back into the house through a window, and noted that multiple rounds had been fired into the boyfriend's car.

He told officers the grandmother had fired at him several times as he was trying to run away, and told police he "felt and heard bullets going past him."

According to the arrest report, Harper was in the back of the patrol car when she volunteered information about the shootinshootingedly saying: "She took my books, that's all I have to keep me entertained. I just lost it. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."

Police say Harper had disposed of some of the spent shell casings in an attempt to conceal evidence from police. Police also found pills in Harper's bra that she identified as being percocet and xanax.

According to the arrest report, Harper, her granddaughter and boyfriend, all live in the same house.

Harper is charged with two counts of attempted murder, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance.
