LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police have arrested a woman after they say she fired a gun at her husband in an attempt to kill him, according to an arrest report.

Police arrested 57-year-old Alicia Thomas Friday evening after she allegedly  fired shots at her husband inside an apartment in the 1200 block of South Brook Street. According to police records, Thomas' husband had gone into an apartment at that location after being involved in a verbal argument with Thomas.

Police say Thomas kicked in the door of the apartment and fired three shots at the victim with a small, silver handgun. Police say Thomas then followed her husband to the apartment's balcony, where she allegedly pointed the gun at him and stated: "I'm going to kill you and myself."

Police documents state that Thomas pulled the trigger, but the weapon did not fire. Afterwards, police say she ran from the scene and disposed of the weapon. The person who lived in the apartment was inside when the shots were fired, but was not injured.

Her husband also ran from the scene, according to police, and was taken to University Hospital by his sister. He was treated for a bullet graze wound to the back.

Thomas was arrested and now faces multiple charges including attempted murder, wanton endangerment, burglary and tampering with physical evidence.
