DAYTONA BEACH, Fl. (WDRB) -- A Florida man who beat up his son's alleged attacker is calling his son a hero.

The father says he walked in on 18-year-old Raymond Frolander sexually abusing his 11-year-old son.  The man brutally beat Frolander leaving his face swollen and bruised, but his injuries were not life threatening.

The dad says he could've done more harm, but it was his son who intervened. "My son saved Raymond. Raymond was motionless on our floor, I went to the kitchen to grab a butcher knife and my son stopped me. My son came in front of me and saved his attacker's life."

The father says he believes his son has forgiven his attacker. Frolander faces sexual battery on a child charges.
