LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- City leaders have plans to create new bike lanes near U of L, but they want to hear what residents think.

Just before U of L students head back to class, bike lanes will be added to Fourth Street, near campus. The city wants to make the road safer by having a bike lane in each direction, as well as a driving lane going each way. Officials also plan to resurface the road and change lane traffic between Cardinal Boulevard and Industry Road.

Metro Public Works will hold a public meeting about the changes on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the U of L Student Recreation Center.
