LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - He was gunned down on his front porch in Lexington 20 years ago, but the memory of Trent DiGiuro lives on through scholarships. His family held another fundraiser today at Hardscuffle Farm in Oldham County.

It's the third annual polo match, but these events have been going on since 1995, a year after Trent was shot and killed.

The man who plead guilty to manslaughter, Shane Ragland, is now out of prison.

A family friend started the Trent DiGiuro Foundation, giving scholarships to seniors at each high school in Oldham County.

"These are called student athlete scholarships at the high schools to epitomize the fact that, yes, Trent was an athlete but he was also an honor student," Trent's father Mike DiGuiro said. "And that 50 percent, over 50 percent, of the scholarships that we've given at the high schools have gone to young women."

This year, they've awarded scholarships to a female pole vaulter, a football player and a soccer player.
