LG&E reports Saturday's storm left 20,000 in Jefferson Co. without power

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Storms across Kentuckiana last night put thousands without power.

Last night, more than 20,000 Jefferson County residents were without power, most of them in the Shawnee and Portland neighborhoods.

Oldham and Meade Counties had around 100 people without power.

MetroSafe had several reports of power lines and trees down across metro Louisville south of the Watterson Expressway.

LG&E says crews have been working to get power restored as quickly as possible.

"Since last evening, crews have been working swiftly to restore power," LG&E spokesperson Liz Pratt said. "Safety is always our top priority, so we want to make sure that areas that have been impacted are safe."

There were no reports of injuries last night. Most residents have since had their power restored.
