LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Thursday, thousands of Shoppers are expected to head to Simpsonville for opening day at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.

We got a tour around the property Monday and there is a definite emphasis on all things Kentucky; from the twin spires facade to a Louisville Slugger walk of fame.

The mall will offer more than 90 stores and dining options, including both a food court and some free standing restaurants.

Only three stores - Kate Spade, Tumi and Gucci - won’t be opening this Thursday. They are the only stores that won't open until the fall.

The mall is opening at 100 percent capacity, which Outlet management company Horizon Properties says is incredibly rare. Even though it hasn't opened yet, there is already space for additional stores.

“As for the logistics of Thursday through this weekend, up to 40,000 people are expected to come here and shop,” Horizon Properties representative Gina Slechta explained. “Today Kentucky State Police released a plan to deal with traffic on I-64. Digital signs will be up to keep drivers informed on where to go. And as we've been reporting officials have arranged for offsite parking across from the Shoppes at the Shelby County Flea market with a shuttle service available.”

Workers are already preparing for the opening, but many stores are still hiring.
