UPDATE: Coroner identifies person killed in National Turnpike crash in Fairdale

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was killed late Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on the National Turnpike in Fairdale.

The victim has been identified as Brenda Jackson, 60, according to Coroner Eddie Robinson. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.

It happened around 9 p.m. July 29 near Fairdale Road.

Police say the driver was speeding when he ran off the road and hit a concrete culvert.

Jackson was a passenger in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 p.m. The male driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say Jackson and the driver were wearing their seat belts.
