TV's newest standup comedy show "Laughs" debuts on FOX this weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Comedy is getting a national spotlight on FOX.  The new standup comedy show, "Laughs" debuts on Saturday, August 2nd on WDRB and many other big markets.

The show is the brain child and personal challenge for comedian Steve Hofstetter. He is part of the ownership of the Laughing Derby in Louisville, which was formerly named Comedy Caravan. Hofstetter is based in Los Angeles but opted to film the show in Louisville. He will be host and is the executive producer of the 13-episode run of the half-hour show that will air at 11 p.m. on WDRB on Saturday nights for 13 weeks. It will air on WMYO Sundays at 10 p.m., beginning Aug. 3. In other markets, the show will run at midnight.

Comedian Dane Hanson produces the show and helps polish content and keep the pace of "Laughs." He is a graduate of Chicago's prestigious Second City, and his resume includes web series, commercials and some acting and voice work.

"Laughs" will feature the best standup from around the country each week along with other nuggets including "the funniest tweets." The show starts in 11 markets on FOX and My Network in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D. C., Dallas, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Orlando and Louisville.

Weekly tapings are scheduled at the Laughing Derby on Bardstown Road for Thursdays at 7:45 p.m. through September.
