LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The bond for the man accused in a violent armed robbery near the U of L Dental School has been set at $30,000.

Police say Andre Lewis tried to rob a man last week on Liberty Street near Jackson Street around 8 a.m. on July 28. That's when police say the victim pulled out his own gun to defend himself and the two shot each other.

Lewis is out of the hospital and is charged with robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and criminal mischief. The victim was also hospitalized with a gunshot wound, but has been released.

Lewis has been ordered to have no contact with the victim, who works for the U of L Dental School.
