Petition drive hopes to get "Weird Al" Yankovic to play halftime at the Super Bowl
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Seattle man's drunken petition to get "Weird Al" Yankovic to play halftime at the Super Bowl is getting surprise momentum. The Washington Post reports Ed Ball started the petition on Change.org after a night in a bar and it's received more than 6,000 signatures.
Ball says he's a classic rock fan and appreciates artists like The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty, but they already appeal to the average Joe. He says he doesn't want to see "Nicki Minaj verbal vomit some lyrics I cannot understand," and he warns, "And do you want Miley Cyrus?
Because this is how you will end up with Miley Cyrus!" Ball says to see Yankovic at the Super Bowl "would be the dream come true."
