Amazon disputes e-book pricing, Disney contract

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a battle of the books and this page turner doesn't seem to have an ending.

Amazon and publishing house Hachette have been fighting over how Amazon prices its books.

The retail giant says since e-books are less expensive to produce and have no resale value, it should pay less for them, while Hachette claims that Amazon is not properly pricing the books.

Both are recruiting readers to write the CEO of the opposition to help end the standoff.

Meanwhile, Amazon is also in a contract dispute with Disney.

The feud means shoppers can't pre-order Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Maleficent and some other Disney titles in Disc format on Amazon.com.
