911 calls made after alleged assault by Joshua Young released

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the first time, we're hearing the 911 call that prompted assault charges against Joshua Young.

In April, Young was accused of returning to the neighborhood where his 14-year-old stepbrother, Trey Zwicker, was beaten to death, to confront a couple that testified against him.

Young was acquitted of Zwicker's murder.

In police interviews, Cassie Gouker and her husband John Robertson say Joshua Young drove by their home yelling their names. They say he confronted Robertson, who was outside, and punched him in the face.

Here is a partial transcript of the call:

DISPATCH:  We just received a 911 call from this number. Is everything okay?

CALLER: No it's not, because there's a, a...uh...a guy -- a boy -- who's come over here and punched my husband in the face.

DISPATCH: Is the person that assaulted him still there? Was it a neighbor?

CALLER: No. It's Joshua Young.

DISPATCH: And how do you know him?

CALLER: He's the one that killed Trey Zwicker?  He uh, he knows my family.

DISPATCH:  He killed, what was his name?

CALLER: Trey Zwicker. See, I'm related to Josh Young's father.

DISPATCH: Ok.

CALLER: And when all that stuff happened, you know, they want to come back and retaliate because I helped the prosecutor.

Young is facing fourth degree assault charges. At the time he was charged, the 18-year-old was already behind bars, accused of punching and choking his girlfriend.
