Penn. woman barely escapes car caught in sinkhole

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman's car was swallowed by a massive sinkhole -- and she barely got out in time.

It happened in Ross Township, Pennsylvania.

"I got in my car and started to back up," said Natalie Huddleston. "And I felt a thump, and I was kind of sticking up in the air, kinda disoriented. Hit the gas, nothing happened. No contact with anything in the back wheels, they were spinning. And I felt a rocking motion and I felt myself sinking."

The owner of a tanning salon ran out to find Huddleston's car teetering on the edge. She pulled Huddleston out of the driver's side window and within five minutes, the whole car was gone.

Officials say a 60-inch storm water management pipe collapsed, causing the sinkhole.

It took a several hours to pump out the water and get the car out of the hole.
