LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary attempt that turned into a murder early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 13 in the 2000 block of Terril Lane near Goldsmith Lane. That's where police say 24-year-old Raquan Carmichael entered an apartment where he was confronted by a man inside. As the two struggled, police say Carmichael shot the man.

The victim was taken to University Hospital, but died from his injuries late Wednesday afternoon. His identity has not yet been released.

Carmichael is charged with murder and burglary. He's being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
